Take a Kid to the Theatre is an outreach program through Edmonds Driftwood Players. We are looking for youth educators to conduct free onsite creative workshops at our partner shelter and transitional housing locations which include: Shoreline, Lynnwood, and South Everett. Youth at these facilities range in age from 1-18. However, most of our creative workshops host youth aged 6-15. Our workshops are a maximum of 1 hour and educators are paid a stipend of $50 per workshop to help offset travel expenses. The content of the workshops are interactive exercises that use theater related games to relieve stress and engage the kids and their imagination. Our partner locations will require that educators are fully vaccinated and also submit to a background check. EDP will also require its own background checks and liability paperwork. Preferably educators should have historically worked with kids either in a school environment or in off site workshops, camps, etc. We work with child and family advocates at each facility to schedule the workshops. During the school year, the workshops are usually after school activities (approximately 4-6pm). During the summer, workshops can be scheduled during daytime hours.
