The LUNG FORCE Walk is an annual event hosted by the American Lung Association during which we fill Pier 16 and lower Manhattan with a sea of Turquoise and show our support for those battling lung disease. We need passionate volunteers who can help us make this day one to remember.

Volunteers will be needed to assist with early morning setup, participant check-in and registration, assistance on the Walk route, and help with the cleanup of the event. We will be monitoring CDC guidelines for safety leading up to the event. Please come prepared to have fun, and with a smile on your face. For more information, please visit www.lungforce.org/nyc.

Mission Statement

To save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Description

For over 115 years, the American Lung Association has remained steadfast in its mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. We are dedicated to defeating lung cancer, serving as a champion for clean air for all, improving the quality of life for those with lung disease, and creating a tobacco- and vape-free future. Guided by a strong moral compass, we continue to advance our mission as we always have - by combining education, advocacy, and research efforts.

We are committed to providing you with the most up-to-date information on all things lung health to help you as we move towards a world free of lung disease. We offer a number of programs that are designed to help people quit smoking, learn to live with and control their asthma, and prevent adolescents from smoking, just to name a few.

As long as anyone struggles to breathe freely, the Lung Association will be there to champion for them. Because when you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.
