Hopkins St. Louis Park Meals on Wheels is looking for additional volunteer drivers to deliver meals over their lunch hour to seniors and individuals with disabilities in their community. If you are looking for a way to become more connected to your community and have meaningful interactions with the people in it, please sign up to become a meal delivery volunteer!
How can you help: Volunteer drivers deliver much more than a nutritious meal - they bring a smile and kind words, relieve isolation, and provide peace of mind for meal recipients and their care givers.
Qualifications: Volunteer one hour over your lunch time during the weekdays on a schedule that works for you. You must have your own transportation and license.
Where: Volunteers drive to the program site, pick up 8-10 meals stored in easy-to-carry thermal packs, and deliver them to residences using a route designed by the program. Delivery coordinators will provide all the necessary resources to limit the spread of disease during your route and keep both you and meal recipients safe.
**Delivering meals can fit into a work lunch break. It is also a great family-friendly volunteer opportunity so plan to bring your kids or grandkids!
For more information call their office at (952) 405-0703 or contact Sarah Boggess at hopkinsmow@gmail.com

Mission Statement
Metro Meals on Wheels is the association of 32 Meals on Wheels programs in the Twin Cities metro area. With our program partners, we lead the effort to make sure people in our community receive the nutritious meals and the human connection they need to help them live independently.
Description
Meals on Wheels is a community-based service that provides fresh, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. In addition to regularly providing healthy food, caring volunteers provide social connection that helps meal recipients remain living independently in their own homes.
With the help of Meals on Wheels programs, seniors and people with disabilities get the nourishment and human connection needed to support daily activities, while reducing the need for medical support. For some recipients, these daily meals are the difference between living in their own homes and moving to a nursing home.
Meals on Wheels could not exist without the help of volunteers who deliver the meals and donors who help those who cannot afford to pay for the meals.
Every year volunteers deliver more than a million meals in the Metro area. With over 32 locations in the Twin Cities there is sure to be a program near you! Please join us!
