Providence Hospice Volunteer program allows for volunteers to come and give extra support to Providence patients and their families. This job will consist of both patient support and administrative duties. The volunteers will be in charge of providing support for the patient and their families such as going grocery shopping, getting food, sitting quietly, walking their dogs, doing laundry/ dishes, reading books etc. This service is free to Providence patients and their families and they may choose to accept or decline the service.
The volunteer will work once a week for a minimum of 2 hours and their schedule can be flexible. 16 year olds and above can volunteer as well; they will just need a parent’s consent. They will also go through an extensive background check and orientation training in order to maintain confidentiality and patient rights. Volunteers will gain volunteering credits that will go towards any documents that they may need.

Mission Statement
Providence Home Care LLC is a Medicare licensed medical home care and non-medical personal care agency providing hope and healing to our community since 2002. We are locally owned and operated by lifelong Oklahomans. Our clinical staff will guide you through every step of the home health process. We utilize our own team of trusted professionals and avoid sending contracted providers to our patients. Our desire is to serve you and your family with excellence and integrity in everything we do.
Description
Hospice is a program of care and support for people who are terminally ill and their families. The focus of care is quality of life and comfort. Hospice is not only for people with cancer, but for multiple end of life conditions. Hospice is designed to bring comfort (palliative care), not curing an illness. A specially trained team of professionals and caregivers provide care for the "whole person," including physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Services typically include physical care, counseling, drugs, equipment, and supplies for the terminal illness and related conditions. Care is generally given in the home with support available to family caregivers.
