At St. Croix Hospice, care and comfort are tailored to the unique preferences of our patients, families and primary caregivers. We individualize care to ensure that it is provided in a way that brings dignity, respect, and compassion. We believe that moments of joy can be found through meaningful experiences, even in challenging times.

St. Croix Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals to serve in the following volunteer opportunities in or near the designated service areas or zip codes:

  • Administrative Volunteer - If you are task-oriented, enjoy customer service, and like working in a friendly office environment then volunteering in an administrative capacity may be a good fit for you. As an administrative volunteer you would assist with operational responsibilities in the office or even from the comfort of your home! Administrative duties in this area can include preparing admission kits and information binders, mailings, filing/copying, and phone calls to patients from the local St. Croix Hospice branch office.
  • Virtual/Companion Visits - We can match you with a patient or patients that are located near you. At this time, only virtual companion visits are offered to patients. As a volunteer, you would call patients and/or families by phone or video tablet to offer emotional support through conversation and active listening.
  • Bereavement Volunteers provide support during the 13-month period following the death of a hospice patient through mailings, support groups, memorial events, and other special projects.

Schedules are very flexible! Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about these rewarding volunteer opportunities to serve patient and families in their most challenging times.

Description

Originally founded in Minnesota, St. Croix Hospice is named after the St. Croix River. Symbols of change, rivers are restless, sometimes moving swiftly and other times peaceful and nearly still. Like life, rivers are not always easy to navigate, and it’s good to have a guide to help you through the difficult parts. We are here to guide your end-of-life journey with care and compassion.

Our clinical staff are professional, compassionate and award-winning. Our care team includes healthcare experts who believe in the power of hospice care to increase quality of life for all people approaching their final days.
