ORGANIZATION: Hostelling International Chicago

HI Chicago is looking for volunteers to lead and support welcome parties for guests at our bustling Chicago hostel; which hosts travelers from across the globe. The HI USA Welcome Party allows guests to meet and interact with each other, at the hostel. These Welcome Parties also serve as an opportunity for guests to learn some information about Chicago history and the culture of our local communities/neighborhoods.

SCHEDULE

We are looking for welcome party volunteers for our Monday Trivia/Game Nights (5pm-8pm), Friday Welcome Parties (4:45pm - 7:00pm) and Sunday Game Nights (5:30p-8:30p). Occasionally, there are also one-off special events for holidays or other celebrations on different days/times of the week. You can sign up for individual dates or recurring.

REQUIREMENTS
You must be 18+ to be a volunteer at our welcome parties.
Most tasks involved in welcome parties require standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 20lbs.

PURPOSE/DEFINITION and HI USA MISSION

HI USA is 501(c)(3) non-profit education association. Our purpose is to "inspire a deeper understanding of people places and cultures for a more tolerant world." As a non-profit, the revenues we receive through overnight stays and memberships is reinvested in mission delivery.
