Image_202211141602

At Hepatitis Education Project, we offer prevention and care services to support people impacted by viral hepatitis in Seattle. We also distribute a significant amount of naloxone, empowering our neighbors to stop overdose deaths in our community. We are looking for people to support us in our work.

Right now HEP is working to strengthen our volunteer base. If you're interested in volunteering with us in the near future, please apply for this general listing and we'll be in touch with new, concrete opportunities soon!

Mission Statement

The Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) is committed to improving health of underserved communities disproportionately impacted by viral hepatitis.

Description

By making information, resources, and health services readily available for people affected by hepatitis, HEP strives to realize its vision of a world where everybody has access to affordable, high-quality care to support all their health needs. Founded in 1993 by a coalition of clinicians and patients, HEP has grown from a small group of volunteers to a staff of 19. Today, HEP still provides free hepatitis screening and vaccines, but its services now include a needle exchange, low-barrier prescriptions for buprenorphine, anonymous drug testing for participants, and medical case management for hepatitis C treatment.
