Adult Bibs

Do you love to sew? Help End of Life Patients by sewing Adult Bibs or Fidget Aprons.

Adult bibs provide dignity and style! The end-of-life process can present many challenges. Worn around the neck these bibs protect clothing from food spills. Although this type of garment is frequently worn by infants, bibs are also utilized by adults particularly with physical disabilities or aging issues.

Fidget Aprons provide a distraction from anxiety and a sense of purpose for individuals at the end of life who suffer with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia

Mission Statement

"To provide quality end of life carethrough listening and education and responding to the needs of those we serve, our community and team."

Description

Gateway Hospice volunteers are the heart of our organization. Volunteers do a variety of different things that help promote our mission of providing quality end of life care. From providing a listening ear as a companion volunteer, to providing respite for the caregiver to go grocery shopping or to their own medical appointment, to managing special projects in our North Hills office as "behind the scenes" support. Volunteers also can get involved with our bereavement program, making phone calls to bereaved family and friends. Music and art are a powerful way volunteers can connect with our patients, especially those with dementia. Pets are welcomed to pay friendly visits to our patients residing in nursing homes. The possibilities go on and on.
