AARP Foundation Tax-Aide helps seniors, low-income individuals and families file their taxes free of charge, claim senior circuit breaker and other tax credits. Tax-Aide volunteers are trained and IRS-certified every year to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.

Training is usually completed in December and early January. This is a seasonal opportunity, with client interactions from February 1 to April 15.

AARP Massachusetts is seeking new volunteers who are willing to:

1. Train and sere as tax preparers at the O'Leary Senior Center. Basic computer skills are required, expeirence filing your own taxes is helpful. Complete IRS training and certification, with training and materials provided.

2. A friendly and adaptable Greeter makes the tax preparation experience smooth for clients and volunteers. Greters welcome clients and check that they have the necessary documents to complete their tax returns. Additionally, they help schedule appointments and match volunteers based on client needs.
