The Native American nonprofit, Elderberry Wisdom Farm has expanded its farm south to four acres with development of our two-acre Native Plant Nursery.
We welcome volunteers to join us this winter as we expand our nursery site. A number of projects are occurring, including potting bareroot plants, mulching recently planted native tree and plant species, removing invasives, and using loppers to cut up some tree branches into firewood.
No experience is needed, and this is a great place to learn about habitat restoration of our ecosystems here in the Willamette Valley and how we integrate Traditional Ecological Knowledge. We truly appreciate the enthusiasm and good support of our volunteers who join us on Saturdays once a month to help with these projects.
When you arrive you can work with Lora and Julie, our Habitat Restoration Educators/Mentors. They are knowledgeable, warm and gracious which makes the experience of helping so enjoyable. We appreciate your help keeping our farm and pollinators healthy. All activities are held outside and volunteers social distance plus they can wear masks if they prefer in order to minimize transmission of COVID or any other infectious diseases. If you have questions, please feel free to email Lora at lora@elderberrywisdom.org.
