RISE UP RENO PREVENTION NETWORK is seeking volunteers for the next school year. Volunteers will mentor a grade school or middle school student once a week for 30 minutes to an hour, and provide a caring support for the student as well as read with them or work on school work or homework as needed. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, pass a background check, have an interest in mentoring, and complete the initial paperwork and orientation before being placed in schools.

The mission of The Volunteer Center is to match individuals willing to serve with non-profit and governmental organizations in need of help for the benefit the community. Our goal is to be the first place people think of when they want to be of service and the first place non-profit and governmental groups think of when they need dependable volunteer help. As a result we extend the human capacity of area non-profit and governmental agencies by recruiting volunteers to fill a wide variety of volunteer positions in the community.
Description
The Volunteer Center recruits, refers and supports volunteers for the betterment of the community. The Center is home of the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Volunteer Action Corps (VAC), Friends in Action and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program in Reno County, Kansas.
