ORGANIZATION: Westbay Community Action

  • 17 people are interested

Volunteers play a vital role in the lives of seniors by providing help maintaining their independence in their own homes. A little help with grocery shopping, transportation, errands, odd jobs, or visiting can make a difference in someone’s life. If you can spare 1-2 hours a week, please consider volunteering as a Westbay RSVP Friendly Visitor.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower and mobilize people through our programs, partnerships, and advocacy to gain greater self-sufficiency.

Description

Westbay Community Action is a charitable organization serving the people of Kent County. We help with food, utilities, health, safety, and education. We opened our doors in June 1966, one community organization in the national effort to fight poverty. We are still community-based and guided by our core purpose more than fifty years later. Today, we are the largest provider of basic needs in Kent County and assist nearly 10,000 households per year.
