McLaren Hospice is looking for friendly people who would like to make a difference in the lives of patients that are being faced with advanced illness. Training is provided and no medical experience is necessary.
Services may include:
- Friendly visits with patient and/or family
- Listening to patient reminisce about their past
- Reading to patient
- Respite support for caregiver by sitting with patient while family takes a break
- Assisting with running errands, letter writing
Additionally, we are looking for volunteers with special talents such as:
- Trained therapy dogs
- Musically inclined and would like to share their musical gifts
- Massage Therapy
- Interest in clerical/office work
Patients are located throughout the greater Lapeer and Davison area, as well as Genesee county and surrounding communities.

Our volunteers are a vital part of this service, providing much needed relief and support for both patients and their caregivers. Our volunteers support hospice families by providing companionship and comfort in both homes and facilities, in a variety of ways.
