Help a Hungry Senior for the Holidays!

We are seeking volunteers to assist us with our Meals on Wheels service for the months of November and December. Each year, we deliver 400 meals every week to hungry seniors in need! You could help by being a meal delivery driver or by baking sweet treats or breads to put in the meal bags when they go out for delivery. We deliver and accept baked goods on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. If either or both of these opportunities are of interest to you, we would love to hear from you! Please reach out to us at your earliest convenience for details via email or you can call our office at 216-777-2136.

About Collaboration Station

Location:

Mission Statement

Collaboration Station is a 501c3 grassroots nonprofit organization whose vision is to stop the cycle of individual and intergenerational dependence on public benefits. Our ultimate goal: using entrepreneurship and work therapy to end poverty. We show individuals facing several significant life barriers how to successfully make the transition from reliance on public assistance to self-reliance and self sufficiency; thus preserving the family unit. For the people we serve, success is defined as the ability to pay daily living expenses on a consistent basis without sacrificing comfort, health or quality of life. Our programs are designed to tap into the self-determination and ingenuity of each individual to help make this possible.

Description

Over the years, Collaboration Station has helped many low-income people in their desire to start and manage their own for-profit or nonprofit business. The road is not easy towards entrepreneurship and because of the abnormal number of challenges they face in order to meet their goal. That is what makes the work we do so important. Here are some of our success stories (names changed for privacy):

Meet Sylvia: A single-mother of three--one in college--was laid-off from her job 12-months ago and was not sure how she would make ends meet but NOW, she owns her own catering business specializing in meals and baked goods for the health conscious and diabetic after participating in our entrepreneurship program.

Meet Raquel: A recently divorced ex-offender having trouble finding consistent work because of her record, NOW, 12-months later, is working and developing her own lingerie business from home with plans to expand online through the help of our program.

Meet Trevor: An ex-offender who returned home to his wife and kids after 4.5 years of incarceration NOW, after 24 months of professional coaching, has started his own business helping other ex-offenders find jobs with plans to expand to Michigan in the summer of next year.

At Collaboration Station, our programs and services are designed to meet a person where they are in order to see them succeed in becoming entrepreneurs. It is in this way that we help ordinary people bring about extraordinary change in their lives, their families lives and their community as a whole.
