Please consider providing take away lunches for the 40 residents of our La Casa Permanent Supportive Housing facility.
Full and complete information can be found on the Sign-Up Genius located at: https://tinyurl.com/LaCasaLunch
- Please provide, at the minimum, 40 lunches so that every resident can receive a meal. Some of the guys could use an extra meal or we could hold a few over until the next day to ensure that folks are getting the nutrition that they need. Not all the guys at La Casa have funds so some folks need more than others.
- Meals would need to be "ready to eat" upon delivery as there are no kitchen facilities at LaCasa. It would be best if the food was some kind of packaged meal. The men at LaCasa live in their own apartments so there's no communal dining area or common space to serve/distribute the food.
- Curbside pickup is an option. When you're a few minutes away please give the LaCasa front desk a call and let them know you'll be stopping curbside and that you'll need assistance unloading.
- Ideal drop off times are between 10AM and 2PM weekdays.

About Friendship Place
Location:
4713 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016, US
Mission Statement
At our core, our mission is to help people facing or at risk of homelessness to secure stable housing and embark on a new chapter in their lives. Our ultimate vision is for DC and beyond to be a place where everybody can find a place they can call "home."
Description
Friendship Place is staffed by over 100 people and has a wide reach in the DC Metro area. The highly successful programs have been given numerous awards, and help make a lasting difference in the lives of over 4,500 people yearly through street outreach, free medical and psychiatric clinic, including drop-in care, case management, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing for veterans and their families as well as job placement and specialized programs. Our program results have been incredibly successful, and various government and nonprofit organizations all over the country are studying our models to replicate our achievements.
Nonetheless, Friendship Place-supported by 26 congregations and more than 300 volunteers a year-retains the feel of a small, caring, neighborhood organization. The most commonly repeated refrain we hear from the people who come to us for help is this: "At other agencies, I felt like a number. At Friendship Place, I’m treated like a human being."
