At the Iowa Community Center in Villa Park, DuCAP holds a weekly "Open Gym and More" for youth between the ages of 10-15. It's open on most Thursdays from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to assist with the sign-in table and general supervision of participants. You can jump in and play, check-in youth, help with set-up and clean-up or just be a smiling face. That's pretty much up to you. You can volunteer once a week or once a month. Summer season has between 10-20 participants and the school season ranges between 12-30 youth.
Volunteer traits we are hoping for:
1. Comfortable with interacting and engaging with youth
2. Able to encourage appropriate conversation and behavior
3. Willing to assist in keeping space is neat and orderly
*** This opportunity can be for high school students looking for community service hours. ***
