The Guthrie is a Minnesota institution dedicated to engaging exceptional theater artists in classic and contemporary plays. Volunteers are a large part of making these transformative performances happen! When you volunteer to usher at productions at the Guthrie, you are making a positive impact in the arts community in Minnesota. As a volunteer usher, you will:

The Guthrie Theater opened on May 7, 1963, with a production of Hamlet directed by Sir Tyrone Guthrie, the theater’s founder. The idea of the theater began in 1959 during a series of conversations among Guthrie and other idealists who were disenchanted with the commercialism of Broadway. They set to find a community that would be committed to supporting a non-profit theater company that would produce great works of literature, cultivate artists’ talents, and nourish its audiences.
