Volunteer at Reggie’s Sleepout and help us make one of the best fall events in Des Moines come to life! We have over 50 volunteer positions available throughout the event. Volunteer positions include assisting with set-up/tear down, serving in the food tent, and more. All volunteers will receive a free Event T-shirt. Reggie’s Sleepout is a great individual or group volunteer opportunity!

Once you have signed up to volunteer, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from IHYC and will get more information and updates. All questions regarding volunteering can be directed to IHYC at 515-238-4099 or by email at IHYC@yss.org.

Who Can Volunteer - Anyone over the age of 18 can become a volunteer.

Shift Lengths - Volunteer shifts are 4 hours. You will be paired with another volunteer. Do not double book yourself when signing up for multiple opportunities. Please only sign up if you can volunteer the entire 4 hour shift.

THE TIME: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 and SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30 2022
SATURDAY: Registration from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sleep out from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (activities 3:00 p.m. to 1 a.m.)

SUNDAY: Clean up from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

THE PLACE: Drake Stadium
All volunteers are to report to Drake University and check in at the volunteer/snack tent
26th and Forest, Des Moines, Iowa

Volunteer Shifts:

Event Set Up - Help set up the event and assist staff with hanging banners, move water, set up tables and tents, place chairs, place info stands, post schedules, etc.

Registration Forms - Assist campers to fill out forms/waivers before checking-in and help direct the registration line traffic.

General Event - Help manage the event and work as Field Marshals to ensure safety of the event. You will stand at access points and gates, as well as walk the field to help with security purposes and answering any questions participants may have.

Golf Cart Drivers - Help campers transport their items to the event and to the field. You will also assist with the flow of traffic.

Food Tent - Serve food and drinks, and help with clean up like emptying gargage and tidying up the space.

Gear tent - Help distribute apparel and incentives that at have been earned by fundraisers and process transactions for anyone who wants to purchase Reggie's Gear.

Snack Shack - Handing out snacks and answering any questions campers have during the event.

Event Clean Up - After the fun is over help us get Drake Stadium cleaner than how we found it. Pick up all trash and cardboard on the field to be dumped or recycled.
