Event: Warrior Rising Fundraising Gala at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, TX (100 Auditorium Circle, San Antonio, TX 78205)
Purpose of Assignment: Warrior Rising is the nation's number one veteran nonprofit that specializes in assisting transitioning veterans start their own businesses through educational programs and grants. Over the weekend of the anniversary of 9/11, Warrior Rising will be hosting a Fundraising Gala in San Antonio with a cocktail hour, plated dinner, live auction, and keynote speaker, Rob O'Neill, who served with the elite the legendary SEAL Team Six, which was responsible for the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
We anticipate that this will be a life-changing experience for our 'vetrepreneurs', as our previous events have been enormously successful. It will be an incredibly fun event with an all-star cast of veterans and professionals in attendance - all of whom are intending to help give our well deserved veterans a launching-pad to build their post-service entrepreneurial career!
Outline of Volunteer Responsibilities: Event volunteers assist with the Fundraising Gala for minimal set-up, registration/check-in, guest assistance, bid spotting, pulling auction items, and clean up.
Time Commitment: 7.5 hours at the Warrior Rising Fundraising Gala which is being held September 10th from 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm (volunteers needed from 3:30 pm to 11:00 pm). Please note: If you are not available for the full 7.5 hours, but would still like to volunteer, we would love to have you for whatever length of time you are available.
Benefits: Volunteers are able to be a part of the Fundraising Gala, meet and network with others in the community, learn new skills from professionals, all while supporting Veteran Entrepreneurship. Food will also be provided.
