This spooky season, please join Mid Sound Fisheries, Green River Coalition, the City of Auburn, and your community members for a helpful Halloween event doing restoration on the Green-Duwamish River! For this event we will be planting native plants to replace the invasive ones that were HAUNTING our park! You are welcome to wear a costume (our staff will be!) but be mindful that it could potentially get dirty or torn due to the nature of environmental restoration activities! So please, put on your BOOts and join us for a day of Trick-or-Tree planting!
The event will begin with a brief discussion that includes information about the site, the partnering organizations, why this work is important, tool use, and safety. We will provide work gloves, all instructions, and all tools. Please plan to arrive on time for the start of the event and allow extra time to find parking.
Please sign up directly with VolunteerMatch!
Email erik@midsoundfisheries.org if you have any questions.

Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group works to involve local people in projects that will ensure a future for wild salmon.
Description
Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group is dedicated to helping landowners and communities protect their local fish. We practice fisheries and stream restoration in the King and Kitsap Counties in Washington State. Our service area includes the Green/Duwamish River watershed, the Lake Washington/Cedar River watershed, isolated streams flowing into Puget Sound in King County, and all watersheds in eastern Kitsap County. We use habitat restoration projects - such as streamside fencing, native tree planting, and fish passage improvements - as catalysts to building community partnerships. As one of 14 Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups in Washington State, we are part of a coordinated effort to restore fish habitat in the state.
