Adults are eager learners

Make a big impact in someone's life! Help adults learn to speak English!

We are recruiting volunteers with a college degree and excellent English language skills to teach English. Volunteers teach to a group of adult students.

Morning classes are held twice a week: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Evening classes are held twice a week: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Classes take place in Lilburn. Classes are in person.

The ideal commitment we seek from volunteers is to teach in a classroom ONCE A WEEK (morning or evening) for an entire SEMESTER (approximately 5 months). Volunteers can teach up to twice a week at one location.

Volunteers should have: a professional demeanor, confidence in speaking/teaching to a group, an openness and appreciation for those from other cultures, ability to lead a class, and be highly dependable. Computer literacy is preferred.

Prior to starting, volunteers attend a virtual orientation and trainings. Training includes learning the curriculum. Volunteers will also shadow classes before being assigned their own class.

Volunteers must attend quarterly meetings to review updated materials and/or changes to the program.

To begin, there is a formal application which includes a background and reference check. If interested, contact Erin Maclay at emaclay@ccatlanta.org
