Are you fluent in more than one language? Do you want to be a voice for children in need?
Join Our Team as a Bilingual CASA Volunteer!
What is CASA? Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are volunteers appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. As a CASA volunteer, you will ensure these children are placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.
Why Bilingual CASAs Are Essential:
- Serve Your Community: By using your language skills, you can reach children and families who may face language barriers within the legal system.
- Provide Cultural Understanding: Your ability to communicate in more than one language allows you to understand and address cultural nuances that can impact a child's well-being.
- Empower Children's Voices: Children deserve to be heard in their own language. Your bilingual skills can bridge the gap and ensure their voices are accurately represented.
What We Offer:
- Comprehensive Training: Gain the knowledge and skills needed to advocate effectively for children in court.
- Ongoing Support: Our team will support you every step of the way, from case assignment to court hearings.
- Impactful Volunteer Experience: Make a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable children in your community.
Join Us Today! Become a Bilingual CASA volunteer and make a lasting difference in the lives of children who need it most. Contact us at www.speakupnow.org/volunteer to learn more and apply.

About Voices for Children
Location:
2851 Meadow Lark Dr, San Diego, CA 92123, US
Mission Statement
Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). We believe that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will review and monitor every court file in the system, provide a CASA to every child in the foster care system who needs one, and advocate to improve the lives of San Diego County’s foster children.
Description
CASAs can change the trajectory of a foster child’s life. They focus on an individual child’s needs, working one-on-one with a child or set of siblings. They provide a source of consistency and stability, visiting with their case children at least once a month. CASAs gather information from files and reports and communicate with social workers, family members, school officials, and other professionals in the children’s lives. They use this information and firsthand observations to advocate for the children’s best interests in Court, as well as in other aspects of their lives, such as education, health, and living arrangements. No experience is necessary! We provide all the training you’ll need, as well as a dedicated staff supervisor to partner with you on the case. With just 10-15 hours a month, you can make a difference in the life of a foster child!
