PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE TO SIGN-UP FOR OFF-SITE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: https://www.ourdailybread.us/donate-food/
We feed people, and we do it with dignity.
We have a wonderful off-site volunteer opportunity available for groups as a one-off or ongoing activity- church groups, schools, companies, families, sports teams, and more have enjoyed making 100+ sandwiches to be delivered and served to soup kitchen guests in need.
In addition to hot meals, our guests also receive "snack bags" with sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and treats to eat later in the day. We distribute up to 600 sandwiches a day, Monday-Friday, so it is a huge help for community members to assemble PB&J or meat sandwiches at home. Any type of bread and meat are accepted! However, our guests prefer white bread and turkey.
For a contactless drop-off, we're happy to unload your trunk when you pull up to our donation door!
We are always grateful to be able to give guests some extra food for later in the day.

Mission Statement
OUR VISION Every person in the Greater Cincinnati community has sufficient access to food, essential social services and a safe place of belonging. OUR MISSION To provide stability and hope to guests in need by offering meals, hospitality and services in a safe, respectful environment, located in Over the Rhine.
Description
Our Daily Bread is Cincinnati’s largest soup kitchen, open since 1985. We serve 300+ hot, nutritious, free meals five days a week to neighbors who do not have a safe way to store or cook food for themselves, primarily people experiencing homelessness. Our guests are encouraged to go through the lunch line as many times as they need to get their fill. We also distribute shelf-stable bagged meals for guests to have something to eat during evenings and weekends.
Our soup kitchen operates with the support of our community- 100% of the food we serve is donated or rescued, sparing thousands of pounds of usable food from landfills each year. We partner with many friends around Cincinnati to bring food through our doors, like bakeries, restaurants, and grocery stores that donate food they are unable to use; individuals who transport rescued food around the tristate; or youth who run canned food drives at their schools.
We host hundreds of volunteers each year who transport rescued food and prepare and serve meals to our guests. Each soup kitchen shift requires 10-15 volunteers, giving people from all walks of life an opportunity to truly connect with their neighbors.
In 2021, we served 160,076 meals using 228,972 pounds of rescued or donated food and 11,640 volunteer hours.
Our goal is simply to be the best hosts we can be to the people who need us, striving to honor the dignity, humanity and light in each of our guests.
