Location:

Mission Statement
To provide financial, educational, and other need-based assistance to active-duty and retired Sailors and Marines, their eligible family members, and survivors. As a non-profit, volunteer service organization, we use both financial and non-financial resources to identify solutions to meet emerging needs. We help clients improve personal financial skills and encourage individual financial responsibility.
Description
The Society provides financial assistance and education, as well as other programs and services, to members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows, and survivors. The Society also receives and manages donated funds to administer these programs and services.
Our main goal is to help each person who comes to us get support for their immediate needs. Our long-term mission is to help Sailors and Marines become financially self-sufficient by learning how to better manage their personal finances and prepare for unplanned expenses.
Volunteers have been the backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society for more than 100 years. They make up more than 90 percent of our workforce. Volunteers make it possible for our donated funds to directly assist Sailors, Marines, and their families.
When service members seek our assistance, they often interact directly with one of our skilled volunteers. As a volunteer, you can expect to:
- Receive specialized training
- Get extensive support and resources
- Connect with other volunteers and build friendships
- Get assistance with child- and dependent-care and mileage expenses
- Help others and make a difference
- Build experience to add to your resume
- Feel appreciated and have fun
