If you have a caring and compassionate heart, you can volunteer with Agape Hospice to bring presence, joy and companionship to patients with less than 6 months to live. Training is provided to prepare you for your volunteer role with ongoing guidance and support.

Agape Hospice has received the "Readers' Choice" Best Hospice Award by the Arizona Daily Star for 2024, 2022 and 2021. We provide excellent care to our hospice patients and their families, and our volunteer program is exceptional.

We believe no one should die alone or anonymously. As a hospice volunteer, you will share your presence, life experience and natural gifts with patients at the end of life. Volunteers contribute to our hospice team, and help patients and families cope with practical, emotional and spiritual challenges at the end of life.

There are many ways to serve and share your gifts with families near you:

• provide a quiet presence
• provide companionship
• play music
• be a certified pet therapy volunteer
• serve our veteran patients (especially if you are a veteran)
• help our patients celebrate life events such as birthdays, anniversaries, holidays
• care for the pets of hospice patients and help find homes for the pets for when the patient dies

Being a hospice volunteer can be a deeply rewarding experience. Our volunteers meet new people, have interesting interactions and gain satisfaction knowing they make a difference in the lives of others. And volunteering can also provide many opportunities for growth, learning and professional development.
