Are you excited about helping pets in need? Do you value the importance of pets for people’s well-being? You can help us in our mission to ensure pet food security for those in need while making valuable connections with people in the nonprofit animal sheltering and food pantry fields, while helping your community!

We'd love for you to join us at PAWSitive Pantry!

We are accepting applications for Event Volunteers. Opportunities for these volunteers would include:

-Helping to set up, working at, and breaking down an info table with a sign-up sheet, FAQs, and giveaways; sometimes distributing pet accessories for donations, to raise awareness and funds for PAWSitive Pantry

-If interested, taking the initiative to identify events in your community where these types of activities could be held, and discussing these possibilities with your local coordinator (optional).

-Help raise awareness about events via social media

Volunteers should:
-have reliable transportation,
-be over 18 unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian,
-be flexible and dependable, be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with another person or small groups

Volunteers should be outgoing and friendly toward the public and willing to learn the basics about the mission of PAWSitive Pantry.

Benefits to volunteers include:

-the opportunity to represent a community service organization,
-the chance to be an integral member of a large team of service-minded people,
-and the ability to network with many people who work and volunteer in animal sheltering and community service.

Volunteers will be expected to complete a short virtual / phone interview. Resume not required.

Mission Statement

Pet Food Task Force is a program of PAWSitive Pantry. PFTF is a collaboration of animal shelters and humane societies within MA working together with retailers, donors, volunteers, to provide pet food to food pantries and social service programs. Our mission is to provide pet food security to those in need, honor the important role pets play in people's lives and work toward keeping people and their pets together despite financial difficulty.

Description

Pet Food Task Force is composed of over 15 animal shelters and animal welfare organizations. We have helped over 130 food pantries and other programs to distribute pet food to those in need. We started when COVID restrictions kicked into effect, but it is clear that despite what's going on with the pandemic, pet food security is a pressing issue in our society.
