Phone call support for hospice families

ORGANIZATION: Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County

Logo

Caring Call volunteers make brief weekly contact with patients’ primary caregivers offering additional support and communication with the hospice team.

  • Calls are scripted with 3-5 key questions.
  • Calls are made midday once a week from your own home.
  • Weekly commitment varies between 30 minutes and two hours based upon your availability.

We hear from caregivers that it is reassuring to know support is there if they need it. Caring Calls are a reminder that they are not alone, and help is just a phone call away.

About Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County

Location:

1615 75th St SW, Everett, WA 98203, US

Mission Statement

As expressions of God’s healing love, witnessed through the ministry of Jesus, we are steadfast in serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

Description

Volunteers with Providence Hospice and HomeCare of Snohomish County help provide emotional and practical support to those who are facing a terminal illness. We serve patients and families throughout Snohomish county, wherever they may call home (private residence, nursing facility, adult family home, etc.) Volunteers can serve in their own community. Volunteers may help by providing companionship for patients, respite for caregivers, transportation to appointments, assistance with errands such as grocery shopping, and much more. Complementary Therapists also provide massage therapy, music therapy, animal-assisted interactions, meditation, and other modalities to provide comfort to patients. Volunteers also provide support to our bereaved family members through one-on-one listening support, co-facilitating a children, teens or adult grief group, or as a volunteer at Camp Erin (an overnight, weekend camp for children and teens who have lost a loved one). In addition, volunteers help support our mission through administrative work in our offices.
