Job summary

As a Word Press Developer with our team, you will be responsible for executing best-in-class new website builds as well as feature and template updates to existing websites across a portfolio of client websites. Working with our team of designers and project managers and overseen by a senior engineer, we are looking for someone with strong expertise in WordPress theme development using modern standards for HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, native JS (ES6), latest Bootstrap libraries, and is familiar with Gutenberg, ACF Pro, Gravity Forms, Composer, NodeJS, and Git (for collaborative development). The ideal candidate should be capable of implementing pixel-perfect responsive web builds based on provided designs.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement highly optimized and customizable WordPress sites, themes, plugins, custom post types, page templates, widgets, content blocks, e-commerce, and APIs

Write clean, valid code using modern standards and libraries (HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, native JS-ES6)

Upgrade/maintain existing website content, graphics, links, coding, meeting scheduling, etc. as needed.

Perform tasks related to WordPress environment installations, base configurations, and upgrades

Perform reliable troubleshooting, Q/A and testing for one’s own work, including implementing backwards compatibility testing for older browsers as needed

Integrating with third-party APIs and micro-services

Communicate with project managers regularly through project checkpoint meetings, code reviews, and project management tools


Requirements

WordPress development skills required. Management of one or multiple business WordPress sites preferred.

In-depth knowledge and expertise of the web development process, including creating, designing, customizing, and deploying websites.

Excellent understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, responsive design, and other website best practices. Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL and server administration a plus.

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
