Grocery Shopper Volunteer



Are you a friendly, reliable, and safe driver that can give a few hours to help a senior or disabled person in need? Volunteer drivers are needed to grocery shop for seniors (55+) and disabled folks.

Grocery shopper volunteers provide an invaluable service for seniors by taking grocery orders and methods of payment from local seniors, purchasing groceries from local retailers on behalf of the senior, and delivering the groceries to senior homes using social distancing practices. As a volunteer, your schedule is completely flexible; you drive when you have time and no regular commitment is required. Additionally, you can be reimbursed for your gas costs and receive supplemental insurance free of cost.

Becoming a volunteer driver is a simple and fun way to build community, reduce isolation, and help all people in our community enjoy access to food.

Schedule:

Very flexible!

Volunteers can drive clients any day of the week, depending on the request



Responsibilities:

Take grocery orders and methods of payment from clients

Purchase groceries on behalf of the client

Deliver the groceries

Follow Covid protocols



Qualifications:

Conscientious driver

Good attention to detail

Can lift up to 25 lbs.

Eager to help seniors
