Endless Journey has immediate need for 5-10 volunteers in Lincoln, Nebraska and the larger Lancaster County area to serve our growing patient population in the community. We serve patients in nursing homes, assisted living, and private homes. Volunteers serve as friendly companions playing cards, playing music, reading scripture, etc. Volunteers are sometimes also needed to provide a 2-3 hour break for a family member caring for their loved one at home. Volunteers do not provide medical care, simply peace of mind for the caregivers and companionship for the patients.
Volunteers make a simple but immeasurable contribution to the quality of life of our patients and their families at this most difficult time of their lives. Whether you are a "people person" or a much more reserved introvert, your presence is a healing one for all involved.
Training is provided - most of the training is online and can be done at home. Volunteers can set their own schedules according to their availability - one hour a week is all it takes to make a lasting difference for our patients and their families!

Mission Statement
The Endless Journey hospice experience will encompass the holistic philosophy in that the client and their family will be nourished physically, emotionally and spiritually as they prepare for the end of life and beyond.
Description
Endless Journey Hospice LLC is an independent, locally owned and operated hospice established in Omaha to serve Northeast Nebraska with an alternative for end of life care unlike those currently offered by the medical field. The primary objective is to empower clients and the community through education and to offer holistic interventions to provide comfort and dignity throughout the dying process. Endless Journey embraces the client and their loved ones as they approach the exhaustion of effective aggressive treatment by offering emotional support and education related to disease process and treatment options to improve quality of life. Like all hospices, we provide services to clients wherever they live. This is provided through the traditional hospice team of nurses, health aids, chaplains, social workers, and volunteers in addition to a broad array of holistic providers and a full-time nutritionist.
