Help us feed the community! Volunteers assist the Meal Program Coordinator with daily operations of the Meal Program. This includes setup and breakdown of the meal program, food preparation, dishwashing, serving meals to guests, greeting and helping guests, organizing and cleaning the kitchen and serving area.

Volunteers are needed on weekday mornings from 8:00-11:45 am.

Wellspring Women's Center is a drop-in service center for women and their children established to foster the innate goodness and personal self-esteem of all who enters its doors. "Hospitality with dignity and love" is the foundation on which Wellspring is built.

Description

Wellspring serves as a drop-in center to vulnerable women and their children and provides a nutritious breakfast and light lunch. Additionally, we provide practical assistance combined with compassion and encouragement in a stable environment. Wellspring started from humble beginnings and has grown to become a trusted neighborhood gathering place that reduces isolation and loneliness.

Wellspring serves approximately 200 women and their children every weekday by providing healthy meals, case management, free counseling, art therapy, enrichment classes and workshops, and safety net services.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 15
  • Orientation or Training
  • one morning per week, 3-4 hours
  • Ability to stand for 3-4 hours and walk on uneven surfaces, desire to work compassionately with women and families experiencing poverty, willingness and temperament to work in a sometimes fast-paced, high energy and unpredictable environment.
