Warehouse volunteers are trained to check, clean, label, sort, repack, and box food items, which will then be made available to our partner agencies for distribution in New Mexico.
- Minimum age for warehouse volunteering is 8 years
- Children and teens between 8 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult
- Volunteers must wear shoes which fully enclose the foot - no sandals, flip-flops, or crocs.
- Warehouse volunteers should be able to lift up to 20 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
- Volunteers should be in relatively good health to perform tasks that may be physically demanding, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching
- We are a fully functioning food warehouse, so volunteers may be working near large equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Shifts in our warehouse typically last 2 hours.

Every week Roadrunner Food Bank touches the lives of 70,000 hungry children, adults and vulnerable seniors who don't have enough food to eat. As the largest non-profit dedicated to solving hunger in New Mexico and the only Feeding America food bank in the state, the food we distribute provides enough food to feed a city the size of Santa Fe every week. Various volunteers opportunities are available in both Albuquerque and Las Cruces to help the hungry. These programs include: Emergency Family Food Boxes, Childhood Hunger Initiative, Senior Hunger Initiative, Mobile Food Pantries, and SNAP Outreach Program. Skill Based. Your gift of service helps us feed hungry people throughout New Mexico.

- This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
- Must be at least 8
- Warehouse volunteers may volunteer daily, weekly, monthly, or on an occasional basis. Volunteers are able to select the day and shift time that works for their schedule.
- Volunteers must wear shoes that are closed-toe, closed-heel; Flip-flops, sandals, or crocs are not permitted.
