ORGANIZATION: Anointed Community Services Int'l

As a Youth Monitor for the Growing Early Minds After School Program at the Elese Tomlin Center, you will play an essential role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of children aged 5-15 during their time in the program. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Supervision

    • Monitor children while they are in the computer lab, library, and game room to ensure appropriate behavior and a safe environment.
    • Ensure students follow program rules and respect the facilities and one another.
    • Maintain an active presence in all assigned areas to prevent accidents, disruptions, or unsafe situations.
  2. Support and Engagement

    • Assist children with questions or issues in the computer lab, library, or game room, fostering a positive learning and recreational experience.
    • Encourage cooperative play and academic focus as appropriate.
  3. Safety and Discipline

    • Enforce rules and program policies consistently and respectfully.
    • Immediately report any incidents or concerns to the Program Coordinator or staff.
  4. Facility Maintenance

    • Help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the computer lab, library, and game room.
    • Ensure equipment and materials are handled properly and returned after use.

Qualifications of a Youth Monitor

To be an effective Youth Monitor, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  1. Age Requirement

    • Must be at least 16 years old.
  2. Personal Qualities

    • Responsible, dependable, and punctual.
    • Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude.
    • Patient and calm when interacting with children.
  3. Skills

    • Strong communication skills for engaging with children and staff.
    • Ability to enforce rules respectfully and effectively.
    • Problem-solving skills to handle minor conflicts or issues that arise.
  4. Experience (Preferred but not required)

    • Prior experience working with children or in a group setting.
    • Familiarity with basic computer skills and recreational activities.
  5. Character and Conduct

    • Demonstrates maturity, respect, and professionalism.
    • Enthusiastic about helping children grow academically and socially.

ACSI exists to educate, empower, encourage and raise awareness of those who are vulnerable and economically and technologically disadvantaged.

Description

ACSI is a nonprofit 501c3 organization situated in Groveland, Florida USA. We provide various training to include programs for Single Women with Children, Youth Skills for Life that includes Job Preparation, Experiential Learning, Computer training, USCIS Citizenship classes and Entrepreneur training. We strive to eliminate food insufficiency through the Meals on Wheels Program, where we deliver hot meals to senior citizens and disabled adults in Groveland, Florida. We provide fellowship to prevent isolation among the elderly; community service project; parenting for single women with children and we engage in mission trips to provide humanitarian aid and training and development to poor and vulnerable orphans and widows overseas.
