Game Day for Denver RivALZ is on June 26th, 2022 at The Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. CO-Captains will collaborate with the other team Captains to be a leader both on and off of the field! While both sides want to win, it is incredibly important that the Co-Captains from both teams collaborate to make the entire event successful. Deliver communications to the team and be readily available to respond to email or text messages from team members. Have regular communication with team leadership, Coordinators, and sponsors. Partner with Head Coaches to secure practice dates and locations so that this information can be communicated during recruitment. Collaborate with the design of team merch for your team.Work closely with coaches to ensure all players are aware of the rules. Set fundraising examples for other players, and participate in all fundraising events hosted by Denver RivALZ. Create a FUN atmosphere (especially for rookies). This position will help boost leadership, management, sportsmanship, communication, fundraising and marketing skills while helping in the Community. Most importantly, don’t forget WHY we raise money for this great organization. Always represent the Greater Denver and Colorado Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association with integrity. We lead Colorado in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research.
Description
The Alzheimer's Association Colorado Chapter works with diagnosed individuals, families, caregivers and health care professionals to provide care and support for those who are affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. We provide a 24/7 Helpline; offer free and confidentail Care Consultations; manage 90 support groups monthly; oversee Memories in the Making art program in area nursing homes; present educational programs across the state; and assist in enrolling persons with the disease in safety programs. We offer culturally approptiate support for Latinos, African Americans and the LGBT community. Several time during the year we have fundraising events, including: The Walk to END Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, the Memories in the Making Gala and Riv/ALZ.
