Welcome to the Environmental Learning Center of Connecticut!- "Inspiring an appreciation for, and enjoyment of nature, through education and conservation, fostering a healthy environment and an improved quality of life".
We are looking for responsible animal lovers to assist with the care of our Farm Animals. Indian Rock Nature Preserve is the educational component of Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut, and showcases a demonstration farm with sheep, cow, pig, chicken and turkey. IRNP is looking for volunteers age 14 and up to help care for our animals which would include offering food and fresh water daily, cleaning stalls and pens and enrichment. Volunteer hours can be used for educational requirements for SAE and community service.
WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR the Weekday MORNING (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and EVENING SHIFT (Tuesday). The timeframe that you are here is flexible.

The evening animal care shift includes closing the farm. The time which you are here is flexible.

Morning Animal Farm Care includes opening the Indian Rock Education Farm. The timeframe that you are here is flexible.

Description
Environmental Learning Center of Connecticut, ELCCT, offers a diversity of hands-on experiential programs using a variety of resources and facilities. Our programs are offered at the Barnes Nature Center, Indian Rock Nature Preserve and in the schools of Connecticut. We annually provided our environmental educational programs to over 25,000 children and families from over 70 Connecticut communities! In addition to our education programs, ELCCT also serves as a land trust and has protected over 750 acres of land in Bristol and Burlington, Connecticut. We encourage you to get involved.
