Do you have a love of history and/or education? Do you enjoy working and engaging with kids of all ages? The Bell County Museum invites you to join us as an education assistant!

The museum offers events at least twice per month on Saturdays from 11am-1pm. These events are for families with kids of all ages and include fun activities, crafts, STEAM projects, and more! Volunteers are needed to assist with the different activities and to engage with the families to provide a fun, personal, and educational experience at the museum! There are also some events that take place during the week throughout the year. Training is provided for the events as they occur. The schedule for education assistant is flexible and the experience is so much fun! This is a great opportunity for prospective or retired educators.

The Bell County Museum exists to engage and educate the community by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the prehistoric and historic heritage of Bell County.

Description

The museum was established in 1991 and is housed in a Carnegie Library. Located in downtown Belton, TX, the museum is a wonderful source for Bell County history, archaeology, culture, and interactive activities. The many exhibits of the museum include Gateway to Gault, Passport through Time: Bell County History, the Chisholm Trail, an 1850's log cabin, and a variety of traveling exhibits that display local and national history!
