Drivers Needed! Give a lift to an older neighbor

Are you a safe driver with a car and a passenger seat to spare? Seniors in your neighborhood need help getting out and about! As we get older, most people limit or stop driving at some point due to health, mobility, or other issues. It takes a village for each of us to stay safe, healthy, and connected. You can be a lifeline to your older neighbors by helping with a ride to the doctor or the store!

Volunteer drivers are needed throughout Allegheny County to provide rides to medical appointments, stores, and errands. Volunteers can choose what neighborhoods they'll help in or be assigned those most in need. We will match you to the location and time that work best for you. Even if you only have a few hours a month you can provide enormous support! Our greatest need is for drivers with weekday availability to assist with rides to medical appointments, and we also need drivers for help with shopping and errands on the weekends.

Wesley Family Services is a social service and social care agency serving southwestern PA. Our volunteer-assisted services in the community are supported primarily by our funding partner: The United Way. We've been supporting seniors for over 25 years.

This volunteer position is only open to residents of Pennsylvania.

All volunteers must complete the PA Criminal History and Child Abuse clearances (Act 33/34 clearances), which are free for volunteers, as well as a 10-year PA Driving Record Check. We provide services to a vulnerable population and so are not able to accept volunteers who have not completed these background checks.
