Come Volunteer with our Clubs After School Program at Myers-Wilkins Elementary during the WINTER MONTHS...Our College volunteers leave for the holidays and there extended break but yet our clubs still go on, so we need Extra Volunteers from Dec16th -Jan 31st.
One a note, Duluth Public Schools do have a short holiday break also between Dec 23rd - Jan 1st so clubs with not run those dates.
After School Clubs Volunteer:
As a volunteer, you will support us in hosting high-quality afterschool programs for kids to increase their sense of belonging and engagement with their school. Activities often include sports or athletics, arts and crafts, music, outdoor recreation and cultural or health related offerings. You may choose to support a pre-existing activity offered by a program partner, or bring in your own club offering to share your passions with the young people.
Clubs/programs are offered Mondays thru Thursdays from 2 - 4:15, Starting September 16th, 2024, running
through the first few weeks of May 2025.. We need volunteers who can consistently attend session
days or one of the days weekly for the whole time.This is important because volunteer presence is
most beneficial to kids when they see the same volunteers every week and can build relationships
with those volunteers.
Volunteers are supervised by the Myers-Wilkins Youth Development Coordinator.

Description
The Duluth Community School Collaborative is a nonprofit that provides services in several Duluth Public Schools, including Myers-Wilkins Elementary School, Lincoln Park Middle, and Denfeld High. These schools serve families with higher rates of poverty than many others in the District. Poverty often leads to academic under-performance, and limited access to the educational, social, and cultural enrichment opportunities.
The Duluth Community School Collaborative works with community organizations and individuals to support academic success and well-being of the whole child. We provide academic support, enrichment, arts and cultural activities, employment readiness, health-related services, and various other programming to holistically meet students' needs at our three sites.
The impact of these services extends far beyond the walls of the school, benefiting neighborhoods, partner organizations, businesses, and the city of Duluth.
