The Supportive Services Program is offered through a grant from LA County and provides a variety of services to senior citizens aged 60+. Services include:
Case Management
Personal Care (bathing, toileting, transferring)
Transportation (to appointments, grocery shopping, etc.)
Homemaking (light housekeeping)
Respite
Volunteers are needed to provide these essential services to Gardena's senior population. Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. City staff will determine client eligibility and assign tasks to volunteers with regards to availability. All individuals including clients, staff, and volunteers will follow all LA County COVID-19 guidelines.

Description
The Recreation and Human Services Department is responsible for supervised recreational activities at six parks with community buildings, two gymnasiums, one parkette, one large two-story community center, and one municipal swimming pool. The Human Services Division consists of the Senior Citizens Bureau, the Youth and Family Services Bureau, and the Gardena Family Childcare program.
