BJC Hospice in Saint Louis, MO, seeks volunteers to make no-sew fleece blankets for hospice patients. You don’t need any sewing skills to make them, just the ability to cut fabric and tie knots. You’ll need just a pair of scissors and enough fleece to make a finished blanket of about 54 by 65 inches (you'll be responsible for purchasing your own fleece and providing your own scissors).
Our goal is to provide a homemade blanket to every patient, and it means the world to them that someone was willing to take the time to make them a blanket by hand. Blankets are a great volunteer project for anyone to do, whether you’re working alone (this can be done while bingeing on Netflix!) or as part of a school group, church group, family or business. Instructions will be provided.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate court-appointed community service volunteers at this time.
