In-person opportunities:
- Blood Service Support: Volunteers with the American Red Cross help to transport blood, act as escorts, greeters, help in the canteen, and more!
Remote opportunities:
- Volunteer Duty Officers: The American Red Cross is looking for Volunteer Duty Officers that will help with dispatch across Kansas and Oklahoma. This opportunity does require a background check as well as a good phone, computer skills, and internet access. Volunteer Duty Officers dispatch Red Cross volunteers to meet with families impacted by disaster to provide temporary relief. Volunteers dispatch team members and monitor the response, assist with documentation, and work with Red Cross staff to direct responses.
RSVP volunteers receive excess medical, excess auto, and volunteer liability insurance. Volunteers that drive over 71 miles in a month are also eligible to receive gas mileage reimbursement.

Description
The RSVP Volunteer Program invites adults age 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to help older adults and strengthen our community in Sedgwick County. Volunteers give their time to support programming that reduces social isolation among older adults and provide nutritional support, among many other activities and initiatives. RSVP volunteers also improve and enhance the quality of the community organizations they serve. With RSVP, volunteers will receive appreciation gifts, recognition events, and may also qualify for the President's Volunteer Service Award. Active volunteers receive volunteer liability, excess automobile, and excess medical insurance to, from, and while volunteering.
