Heartland Hospice is currently recruiting for Friendly Visitor Volunteers. Volunteers will be assigned to a patient who they will meet for weekly visits. During these visits they may listen to music, read a book or provide companionship and conversation. Patients may be located in a residential home or reside in a long term care facility. Volunteers should be friendly, outgoing and willing to work with those in the end stages of life.
Volunteers will be provided a comprehensive training prior to being assigned a patient.

Description

Heartland Hospice provides care to people who have a life-limiting illness of 6 months or less. Services include a team approach to care provided by Registered Nurses, Physicians, Chaplains, Social Workers, Certified Nursing Assistants, Volunteers and Bereavement Counselors. Services are provided in Skilled Nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and private residences in the greater Philadelphia area.
