Foster Parrots, Ltd. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and sanctuary of unwanted, languishing and abused captive parrots and other displaced exotics. With 300+ animals, we are always in need of compassionate, dedicated volunteers who are willing to make the commitment of one day a week for a period of at least three months. No experience necessary, although you must be at least 18 years of age. These extraordinary animals are challenging and rewarding to work with, and just 3 - 6 hours a week can make a big difference in their lives.

About Foster Parrots Ltd.
Location:

Mission Statement
Foster Parrots was established to offer sanctuary to parrots who are in need of a safe place to live a life of dignity and safety. We also believe that in conservation is the true preservation of these species and that as wild animals they do not belong in a life of captivity. To that goal we also believe that education is critical to bring humanity to a place where all understand that wild animals belong in the wild. We stand in opposition to the pet trade and its profit based motive to perpetuate the industry.
Description
Foster Parrots is located on the grounds of the New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary. Currently our sanctuary consists of 20,000 square feet of interior space with outdoor aviaries that can be opened for the birds to enjoy fresh air, sunshine and as much freedom as we can offer. We invite local schools, scouting organizations and other educational groups to tour our sanctuary and to participate in activities that enrich the lives of the birds in our care.
