Want to help families get the money they deserve, but not ready to be a Tax Preparer? We have the perfect opportunity for you!
Free Tax Prep volunteers directly support individuals and families striving to achieve economic well-being. In addition to providing tax preparation, there are other roles, such as greeters and support, who are essential to ensuring Free Tax Prep services are provided effectively and efficiently.
Not a tax expert? No problem! There are volunteer roles for all interests, including:
- Greeters
- Translators and interpreters
- Support personnel who help with appointments and calling filers.
We provide training (December - January with self-study options available) and on-going support. To be a great volunteer, you just need to be:
- Personable and friendly
- Comfortable working with a diverse group of clients
- Willing to ask questions
- Comfortable using a computer if preparing taxes
- Curious about learning new skills
- Willing to adhere to high ethical standards

United Way of Greater Stark County (UWGSC) seeks to improve the quality of life in our communities by leading in the development of solutions to critical social issues in the areas of health, education and financial stability. UWGSC focuses its attention on the root causes of these issues through their focus on programs that target health, education and financial stability. UWGSC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to energize the community to care for one another by addressing human needs with measurable results. UWGSC was founded by the Alliance Area United Way, the United Way of Central Stark County and the United Way of Western Stark County and serves all of Stark County and parts of Carrol County. United Way of Greater Stark County serves a population of more than 380,000 and funds programs and services that address the critical health and human service needs of our community.
