Each Thanksgiving, we host several celebrations on both the days prior to the holiday, as well as on Thanskgiving Day itself at multiple locations at various programs throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. If you are interested in volunteering this coming holiday and would like to receive the list of currently available shifts, we do have a process in place prior to obtaining any assignments.
We do have available shifts in Jamaica, Far Rockaway & East Elmhurst, Queens, Greenpoint & East New York, Brooklyn, the Lower East Side, Chelsea, Midtown & Harlem, as well as in the South Bronx.
If you and all members of your party would please take a moment to complete our New Volunteer Registration form; copy and paste the following URL in your web browser: https://tinyurl.com/ypjpvb2h. When filling out the form, please be sure to indicate your interest in the Thanksgiving holiday! Once your form has been received, you will receive an invitation to our next scheduled new volunteer orientation so you can learn more about BRC, what we do within the community and how you can help this holiday and year-round. These sessions are currently hosted via Zoom and are only 45 minutes. Attendance is required; there are several to choose from.
Please note: The Thanskgiving schedule is now complete and shifts are being filled very quickly. Once you have completed the registration form and attended orientation, you will be sent the full list of what is available at that time. We are also happy to send you the list prior to these steps, however, you will still need to complete the form and participate in orientation in order to make your selection.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Mission Statement
Helping people reclaim lives lost: We restore hope and dignity by offering opportunities for health and self-sufficiency.
Description
BRC: Helping People to Reclaim Lives Lost. BRC is a leading provider of housing and services to thousands of New York City's individuals in need. Offering a hand-up, not a handout, BRC asks one simple question: What can we do for you? BRC sees the potential in each individual it serves and provides each the opportunity to find it. Whatever our clients may seek, BRC has it, 24/7/365: outreach to homeless people living in public spaces, drug treatment, mental health care, comprehensive medical services, vocational services, and supportive communities in which to live. BRC succeeds by building trust with the people we serve; listening, and then acting, providing housing - both temporary and permanent. Building trust takes time, and a compassionate, dedicated staff of almost 1,000 employees and 1,000+ volunteers that persevere 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, never giving up.
