Liberty Hospice provides quality care and comfort to our patients and their families in a critical time of their lives. We are currently seeking patient/family volunteers to assist in providing companionship to the patient, make visits at regular intervals as per plan of care, and maintain confidentiality. Our patients reside in their home or facilities throughout Lee and Chatham Counties. The ideal volunteer would have good listening and communication skills, patience and a caring personality, respect for the hospice philosophy and be willing to work as a team member. Please contact me if you have questions on what you may do to assist our patients.
Volunteers can volunteer at any time, day, night or weekend.
If you ever wanted to feel needed, you have found the right place.
Come help us make a difference!!

Description
I hope you are well and thank you for being interested in volunteering with Liberty Hospice! I would love to tell you more! We are always looking for caring volunteers to visit our hospice patients. Our office covers the Sanford and Siler City areas. Some of our hospice patients live in a facility where staff is taking care of them and some live at home with their family taking care of them. All of our volunteers have to go through a training process that is online as well as a drug screen, and background check. Once all this is clear and complete, I then match you with a hospice patient. We like the volunteers to visit their patient once a week, so you really get to know them, and they get to trust and know you as well! Volunteers do not provide any personal care like bathing but rather socialization and companionship by talking with them, doing life review, looking at photos or magazines, going outside for a breath of fresh air, doing crafts, or whatever the patient is capable of doing. Volunteers are also able to provide respite for our hospice families for short periods of time so they can have a break from their role of caregiver. Please let me know if this all sounds good and I would love to then talk with you more and set up a time to meet! Thanks so much and I hope to hear from you very soon!
