This is an exciting opportunity to help those with Down syndrome read well or practice math skills! The time commitment includes 1 hour orientation (in-person or virtual), 4 hours of virtual tutor training, 1 in-person literacy or math orientation, then per week is 1 hour plus prep time for each lesson and documentation afterwards. We ask our tutors to commit to one session (10-12 weeks) in spring, summer, or fall. Tutors will be matched with a learner based on mutually available times put in the application to determine when you will meet for your session each week. Volunteers sign confidentiality forms and complete a background check.
