Mission Statement

The mission of Lan Su Chinese Garden is to cultivate an oasis of tranquil beauty and harmony to inspire, engage, and educate our global community in the appreciation of a richly authentic Chinese culture.

Description

Lan Su Chinese Garden is one of Portland's treasures - a powerfully inspiring experience that takes you through time, offering a window into Chinese culture, history, and way of thinking. Opened in 2000, Lan Su is an authentic Suzhou-style classical Chinese garden with over 300 species of Chinese cultivar plants. Architecture, stone, water, and poetry complete the garden. Built with materials directly from China by Chinese garden designers and artisans, it is an oasis of nature and tranquility in the midst of the city. Lan Su is open 7 days a week for visitors to enjoy. Join our volunteer team committed to creating memorable experiences for our visitors.
