Jericho Partnership serves the academic, physical, social, and spiritual needs of at-risk youth in Danbury, CT.

Jericho's Mentoring programs serve both boys and girls and is the cornerstone of the faith-based programming we offer to students in Danbury. Our mentors are matched with at-risk students for a long-term mentor-mentee relationship with the goals of helping them navigate life's challenges from a Christian perspective, graduate high school, and live a life of excellence rooted in faith in Christ.

While not all Jericho volunteers are required to be Christ-followers, those who choose to become mentors must have a vibrant relationship with God and be willing to lead, guide, and mentor students based on the tenants of Christianity.

Mentors typically commit to a minimum of two years with a student of the same gender, but often serve for much longer, through high school graduation, and often remain friends for many years. Mentors, who often mentor students with difficult home situations, receive training, support from staff and other mentors, and mentoring guides. They typically meet with/talk with their mentees for about an hour a week, and there are opportunities to attend group activities and outings.

About Jericho Partnership, Inc

Location:

22 Maple Ave, Suite 3, DANBURY, CT 06810, US

Mission Statement

Jericho Partnership is a nonprofit collaboration of word and deed ministry organizations and congregations dedicated to serving the at-risk community of Danbury, CT, focusing on issues related to the life and health of our city’s at-risk youth, and by extension, their families. Taking our name from the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, who aided a beaten and bruised traveler on the ancient road to Jericho, we aim to fulfill the Bible’s twin directives of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ and of doing good deeds to demonstrate His love - benefiting our community by helping those in need of spiritual, emotional and material transformation.

Description

Our History

Jericho Partnership grew out of a 1999 project when several hundred volunteers from urban and suburban Danbury, Conn., congregations began renovating a derelict, burned-out 1800s downtown factory. The result is Jericho House, the home of Cambodian New Life Evangelical Church and several independent Christ-centered ministires for at-risk adults.

As the five-year project progressed, a vision emerged for a Christian charitable organization that would mobilize Christ-centered word-and-deed ministries and congregations into a collaborative serving the city's at-risk communities. Jericho Partnership was formed, providng an ongoing demonstration of living uncompromisingly for the glory of God.

Since then Jericho has become a 501(c)3 cross-cultural organization providing financial, volunteer, facility and staff support to 10 autonomous ministries in Danbury, and collaborates with more than 20 urban and suburban congregations for year-round inner-city ministries and projects.
