Job Description and Details

Serving on the Every Dog board is an opportunity for incredible people to strengthen the Austin community and improve the lives of its dogs (and people!). Board members are expected to attend and engage in quarterly meetings (and on a regular basis). They’re passionate about the mission, vision, and values, and serve as advocates and ambassadors for Every Dog. They work to identify and secure the financial resources and partnerships needed for Every Dog to meet its goals, and participate actively in independent and collective activities. Board members are advocates for their communities and utilize their unique skills and expertise in service of Every Dog’s mission. Board terms are two years long, and members can serve consecutive terms.

Who We’re Looking For

Potential board members must be:

• Ready to jump in and get involved in fundraising, partnerships, and community development.
• Someone who LOVES working with people and can meet them where they are. This includes a strong emphasis on equity, inclusivity, and accessibility.
• Honesty, constructive feedback, and a big sense of humor.
• Problem solvers who love finding creative solutions.

What we’d love:

• Experts in fundraising, development, public relations, non-profit board experience, non-profit legal, financial/CPA, social work, affiliated with local partners/organizations, etc
• BIPOC and folks from marginalized communities. We’re dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to resources, which means including representative voices and having them drive our efforts in these communities.
• Experience in community outreach within marginalized or under-resourced communities
